This page contains a few of my 3D printing projects that might actually be useful to someone else. Any files provided are free to be used or modified for non-commercial use. Some more involved projects have their own pages.
Mao Skull Display
Our cat of fourteen years finally passed in 2026. Rather than doing something normal, my wife wanted to preserve him. I built a bell jar display for his skull. It turned out pretty well, but I hope to not have to think about doing anything like this for at least a decade. See this page for the full write up.
PLA TPU PETG | Parts: 5Mini Wall File Box
I use this little file box every day. Also included are nice little dividers to organize papers. It fits a standard sheet of paper folded in half, as well as the notebooks I like. It screws into the wall via holes that line up with the front pattern. That's it. It's useful.
PLA | Parts: 3PC Switch Cover
Cats are assholes, or at the very least, careless. My new PC lined up just so that the back right paw of both my cats lands directly on the power button, and so, a button cover was made. Plenty of other people have made many of these, but this one is mine. The hinge uses a piece of standard filament, and it's held down with small pieces of double-sided tape.
PLA | Parts: 2Valve Index Headphone Abomination
I found out you can buy the speakers from the Valve Index for cheap on eBay, and thus, this abomination became inevitable. The Valve Index uses digital signal processing wizardry to get any bass out of these little drivers, so without it they sound pretty thin. I soldered an 8 or 10 ohm resistor on each side, which did a surprisingly good job of boosting the bass. Are they good? Not really. Do I like them? Apparently not enough to clean the cat hair off them before taking this photo. Anyway, I used these pads, and the headband is the excellent Capra Headband. You will have to figure out the yoke situation yourself though.
